Please refer to this blog post for benefits and overall process of setting up and optimizing your Institution’s wound care formulary. Please refer to this support article on how to set up or optimize your Formulary on WoundReference
What are the benefits?
Some of the benefits of using WoundReference to set up and optimize your formulary on WoundReference are:
- Many clinicians order products by brand name, not realizing there might be plenty of the product in stock under a different brand name. Formularies within WoundReference clearly show which brands belong to the same product type
- Different brands of the same product type have different features and prices. You can easily compare features and pricing across brands and choose the right products for your Institution
- You can easily generate customized product handouts and compare features of similar products directly on your WoundReference Formulary
- Share your Formulary with other Institutions or see other Institutions’ formularies, to facilitate transition of care
How and who can set it up?
The Formulary feature is available to all levels of membership, including the free Basic membership. Only the Admin of an Individual account or Organization on WoundReference can set up and edit the Formulary. Once the Formulary is set up, all users within the Organization can access it.
Your Formulary within WoundReference is set up similarly to a Product Favorite List. The difference is that instead of logging in as yourself and adding products to your own Favorites list, you’ll log in as a “Formulary user” within your Organization and then add products to Favorites of this “Formulary user”. The “Formulary account” is used only to set up and edit your Formulary. (see picture )Once you set up your Formulary, all users from your Organization will be able to see it as a shared Favorites list (see picture below)
